Statistics from NRHA Futurity [21.12.05]

We are very pleased about Flarida's win in the NRHA Open Futurity aboard KR Lil Conquistador (by Conquistador Whiz). It's mainly because one month ago we bought in the USA a very nice daughter of Conquistador Whiz. But there was lot more horses by famous sires in the Futurity finals. And many of those stallions are sires of our horses. There was two reiners by Conquistador Whiz in the Open final and three horses by his father - Topsail Whiz. Craig Schmersal rode one of them to the third place.

Tejons Peppy Doc (sire of KR Happy Hour) was represented by 4 horses in the Non Pro division final. One of them won the Intermediate Non Pro Reserve Champion title. There was six horses sired by Smart Chic Olena in all divisions finals. But that's not all, as many horses were sired by his sons.

It was a good show for Gallo Del Cielo's offspring (sire of our Fives Rooster). They earned the Reserve Champion title and the 6th place in Non Pro Futurity, 3rd place in Intermediate Open and another 3rd place in Limited Open. There was a total of 13 horses by Rooster in the finals. His brother Grays Starlight sired 4 horses in the finals.

At our ranch you can find horses by Hollywood Dun It (Hollywood Spinstep, Ima Dancin Dunit) and Shining Spark (JJS Spit Shine). The first one was represented by 10 horses in the Futurity finals. Offspring by Shining Spark earned the 7th and 12th place in the Open Futurity and 4th place in Intermediate Open. We also have several dughters of Sayos Shining Sun - his son finished 6th in Prime Time division and another horse by him was 13th in Intermediate Non Pro.

In the Open final there were also horses by Einstein (Miss Pinestein), Reminic and Colonels Smokingun. Gun Dealer by Gunner was second in Limited Open. The sire of the NRHA Non Pro Futurity winner is Dunnit Rawhide's son. And Dunnit Rawhide is the sire of our Bueno Chex Lady.

Klara Salkova wins the Czech Senior reining championship [29.09.05]

On Sunday, 14th August, Klara Salkova rode her bay stallion Smart Chiconita to the first place in Senior reining at the Czech Reining Championship. What a day it was - it was her second consecutive championship and seventh reining title in her career! She also added to her account a win and a third place in the Czech Futurity and a bronze medal in Junior reining.

The Czech Reining Championship was held on 13-14th August in Nova Amerika. The show was judged by Sylvia Katschker, Klaus Fock (both Austria), Jaroslav Dolezan (on Saturday) and Jaroslav Havlik (on Sunday).

There was 12 horse and rider combinations qualified for the Senior reining finals. The first go was won with a blistering 216 earned by Klara Salkova aboard her own Smart Chiconita. They began with a correct sliding stop to move to fast and well cadenced spins, which were definitely in the plus column. Clean circles with good transition from big fast to small slow helped to increase the score. Very precise figure eight was followed by Klara's signature - three deep and very confident sliding stops and perfect roll-backs. Smart Chiconita seemed very relaxed and taking a lot of pleasure from his run. On Sunday Klara perfectly managed to overcome the pressure and did an even better run. Rapid, flat spins, risky circles with good transitions and lead changes and above all superb sliding stops - it was reining at a really good level! When Klara and Smart made their final rundown ended with a deep stop, everybody knew that they will defend their last year's title. They scored a 217,5 and with the composite score of 433,5 became Czech Senior reining champions.

Earlier in the morning Klara Salkova earned another title, winning the Futurity division. Riding Doc Chexy Ridge, a Paint Horse mare (owner: H. Vankova), she earned a composite score of 403. With her second horse, Ima Dancin Dun It by Hollywood Dun It (owner: P. Julina), Klara Salkova placed third. Karel Barotek riding Fives Rooster was fifth and Hynek Fister on CB Sugar Dunnit was sixth.

In Junior reining Klara Salkova finished on the third step of the podium. With Monty Blue Sky (owner: V. Sedlacek) she earned a composite score of 416 and was just one half point behind Lukas Brucek and Karel Kubata.

Katerina Strakosova guided her 5-year-old mare Brooks Legacy to a respectable fifth place in Amateur reining. Marketa Zezulkova can speak of bad luck, as she had a 0-score in the first go of reining Youth abaord Smart Chiconita. But on Sunday she earned a good 211,5. With her scond horse, AP Genuine Doc Hat, she finished fifth.

4th CZQHA SHOW [23.06.2005]

The fourth Czech Quarter Horse Association Show (AQHA approved) was hosted on Saturday, June 11 at the Nova Amerika facility in Zalonov. This year the number of entries reached 150 horse and rider combinatons. This AQHA show attracted competitors not only from Czech Republic but also from Germany. They were judged by Carl McCuistion from Wilson, Oklahoma. He is an NRHA Open and Limited Open finalist and AQHA World Champion and Reserve Champion in Junior and Senior Working Cow Horse.

A total of 33 horse and rider combinations were nominated in 4 reining classes. Senior reining was certainly the highlight of the whole CZQHA Show. Last year Klara Salkova aboard Smart Chiconita won the Senior reining with a score of 70. On Saturday they repeated the score, but it was certainly a better run than in 2004. Klara and her 8-year-old bay stallion did big three last stops of the pattern 10. By far the best sliding stops of the whole show. The crowed cheered when the dirt was flying around. Everything was decided with the first out of four stops, which wasn't as good as the others, and an underspin. Finnally the pair finished third, just a half point behind Irena Machalikova and Ivan Cernoch.

Out of 14 horse and rider combinations Karel Barotek riding Smart Maky Lena owned by Iva Zezulkova won the Junior reining with a good 69,5. In Amateur reining Monika Julinova on Miss Bobby Jac Scoot was third. In Junior reining the second place went to Marketa Zezulkova and Smart Maky Lena. Marketa and Maky have won the Western Horsemanship Youth. They were also second in Western Pleasure Youth and Showmanship at Halter Youth. Petr Julina and Ima Dancin Dun It finished third in Showmanship at Halter Amateur.

In halter classes Smart Maky Lena and Diamonds N Gin Pleez earned a sixth and eight place respectively in Aged Mares. And Ima Dancin Dun It was third in 3yo Mares. AP Genuine Doc Hat was third in Aged Stallions.
