Five Rooster - Junior reining Horse of the Year [09.12.07]

  The Horse of the Year winners were announced on the 1st of December at the WRC CR annual meeting. Fives Rooster was awarded the Horse of the Year title in Junior reining. In 2007 he won the Czech FN Junior reining Champion title and was WRC CR Junior reining Reserve Champion. Conquistador Dun Me finished second in the same category.

  We have a new stall adapted from an already existing building. There is 19 boxes and 2 areas for our youngsters (for 6-8 horses + pastures area).

  On Saturday, 24 November, Klara Salkova passed her exams for International Trainer. Congratulations!

 

Slide & Smile [03.12.07]

  NRHA Slide & Smile in Nova Amerika was the last show of the season. It was the first ever show for Brenda Lesniczakova. She guided Spirited Lil Pine to a score of 135 and a first place in NRHA Youth 10&under. Barbora Kubicova won the NRHA Youth 14-18 with Lisa Shiner. Ondrej Slamjak was Reserve Champion in NRHA Rookie. In NRHA Intermediate Open Hynek Fister finished 7th with Fives Rooster and Klara Salkova was second in Ladies.

Names such as Rudi Kronsteiner, Morey Fisk or Markus Morawitz attracted a lot of spectators in the afternoon. The only Czech riders in NRHA Lawson Bronze Trophy Open were Klara Salkova with Smart Chiconita and Hynek Fister with Fives Rooster. Klara finished 5th with a good score of 143. The Lawson Trophy went to Rudi Kronsteiner on Chic N Roost. They earned a score of 147.

 

Paint Horse Show [03.12.07]

  This year's Paint Horse Show was held nn October, 6-7th in Horka. Vaclav Orlita was 5th in Open reining with a 3-year-old gelding SK Zippo Pine Jac.

 

Czech WRC Championship [03.12.07]

  Two weekends in a row our horses were asked to give their maximum. The Czech FN reining Championship was followed by the Czech WRC Championship on September 29-30. In Senior reining Klara Salkova was 6th with Brooks Legacy, 5th with Golden High Brow Jac and won the Champion title with Monty Blue Sky.

In Junior reining Hynek Fister was Reserve Champion astride Fives Rooster and was third with Conquistador Dun Me. Klara Salkova was 6th with Jessi Smart Contessa.

Katka Strakosova was 4th in Amateur reining, riding Brooks Legacy.

 





Czech FN Reining Championship [30.09.07]

  This year's Czech FN reining championship was a big success for our team. We brought 9 horses to Nova Amerika and all of them placed in top 5 of their respective divisions. In all of 5 divisions which were held in Nova Amerika we earned at least a Reserve champion title! And 3 out of 5 Horse of the Year titles went to our horses!

Klara Salkova and SK Great Pine Smart were crowned Futurity Reserve Champions. Marian Stihel aboard SK Shining Jac won the bronze medal and Hynek Fister with Sayos Honey was fourth.

Lukas Bartko earned the Champion title in reining Youth, guiding Smart Chiconita to a score of 210,5 and then 213. The Reserve Champion title went to Ondrej Slamjak and Smart Little Joker.

Amateur reining was very tough, with 4 riders with the same score (206) tying for the fourth place after the first go. In the second go Kataerina Strakosova scored a 211 and finished 4th. Ondrej Slamjak had the best score in the first go (212) but in the final round he was bested by Roman Zimmermann. Finally Ondrej won his second Reserve Champion title, riding Smart Little Joker.

Junior reining was dominated by Hynek Fister, just like during the course of the whole 2007 season. He tool the lead in the first go with Fives Rooster andwas 3rd with Conquistador Dun Me. In the final go, he scored a 210 with Five Rooster and a 210,5 with Conquistador Dun Me, thus winning the Champion (with Fives Rooster) and Reserve Champion (with Conquistador Dun Me) title.

Klara Salkova was qualified to the Senior reining finals with three horses. Aboard Monty Blue Sky she finished 5th. Karel Barotek and Roman Zimmermann were among title contenders as they both scored a 210 in the first go. But Klara's two other horses were in top form. With Smart Chiconita she earned a score of 211 in first go and 214 in second go. She also guided Brooks Legacy to a score of 215 which gave her the advantage of entering the arena as the last rider of the final go round. A very good final run earned her a score of 215,5. Klara was crowned Senior reining Champion with Brooks Legacy and Reserve Champion with Smart Chiconita.

The Horse of the Year titles were awarded at the end of the show. Conquistador Dun Me was awarded with the Horse of the Year title in Junior reining, Smart Little Joker in Amateur reining and Smart Chiconita in Senior reining.

On Friday Klara Salkova showed three horses in the CRI (FEI World Reining Masters qualifiers): Monty Blue Sky, Smart Chiconita and Golden High Brow Jac. The CRI was won by Emmanuel Ernst from Germany. Klara was 4th with Golden High Brow Jac.

Martina Smirova and Brooks Legacy crowned Czech WRC Champions in reining Youth! [12.09.07]

  The Czech WRC Championship was held in Horka nad Moravou on the last weekend of August. Our team, consisting of Tamara koresova with Peppy Bright Star and WS Queen Star, DominikGolminc witn NA Colonels Smartin and Solanos Triple Jac, Martina Smirova with San Della Lena and Brooks Legacy, Barbora Kubicova with Diandmonds N Gin Pleez and Lisa Shiner and Lida Koresova with WS Sandy Moon, was preparing itself for a week, twice a day, with Klara Salkova. Lukas Bartko had horses from Mr. Sedlacek and was preparing himself in Horka, helping also in preparations for the Championship.

Lida Koresova aboard WS Sandy Moon and Barca Kubicova with Diamonds N Gin Pleez became western pleasure Czech Champion and Reserve Champion respectively. Barca Kubicova was also third in western horsemanship.

There were two goes in reining. In the first go Tamara Koresova with Peppy and Martinka Smirova on Brooks earned both a score of 139. In the final (second) go Tamara was third with a bronze medal. Dominik Golminc aboard Solanos Triple Jac finished fifth with a score of 135 on the second go. The best run was posted by Martina and Brooks Legacy. A score of 142,5 earned the the Czech WRC Champions title.

 


FEI European Reining Championship 2007 - 6th place for Czech Rep., Klara Salkova 16th in the final [22.08.07]

  There was 12 national teams represented at the FEI European Reining Championship (FEI CRIO 4*) but the whole show was dominated by Germany and Italy. The Czech team was doing its best and this years participation was said to be the best in Czech reining history.

The teams consisted of 4 riders. The best three scores were added together and the lowest score was deleted. The show was judged by J. Boogaerts (BEL), R.Hesselschwerdt (GER), S. Katschker (AUT), A.Kronshagen (LUX), F.Massi (ITA) and F. Zurcher (SUI).

All our riders tired hard and gave the best out of them but also didn't avoid some penalties. Karel Barotek and Hollywood Spinstep finished with a score of 202, Hynek Fister on Monty Blue Sky scored 204,5, Roman Zimmermann with RDH Genuine Cookie was 1 point above him and Klara Salkova guided Smart Chiconita to a score of 207. The whole team finished on sixth place. The gold medal went to Germany. The second and third place went to Italy and Switzerland respectively.

Klara Salkova was qualified for the individual final (as the first Czech rider ever!) and finished 16th. The European Champion title went to David Brighenti (ITA) aboard OT Taris San Peppy (226). Nico Hörmann was second with Bog Time Rooster and Genaro Lendi was third on Miffilenium.

 

EuroSlide 2007 [16.08.07]

  On August 15-19th, the HorseAcademy in Mooslargur (France) will host the 2007 FEI European Championship (FEI CRIO****) along with a NRHA approved show. The Czech team for the European Championship consists of Klara Salkova with Smart Chiconita, Hynek Fister with Monty Blue Sky, Karel Barotek with Hollywood Spinstep and Roman Zimmermann with RDH Genuine Cookie. We wish them good luck!

 



NRHA Czech Cup II [16.08.07]

  The second show of the NRHA Czech Cup was held on the first weekend of August in Nova Amerika. It was ran concurrently with Czech FN classes. Klara Salkova with Brooks Leagacy were crowned NRHA Open Champions!

On Saturday there was a tie for first place in Junior reining between Pavel Orel and Hynek Fister on Fives Rooster. Hynek and Conquistador Dun Me finished 5th. Katka Strakosova with BrooksLegacy and Ondrej Slamjak on Smart Little Joker were first in Amateur and Youth reining respectively. Tamar Koresova came second and third in Youth reining, guiding Peppy Bright Star and WS Queen Star.

Karel Barotek was first in Senior reining. Lukas Brucek followed on second place and Klara Salkova was third with Smart Chiconita.

In NRHA Limited Non Pro, Helena Tyralova was crowned champion with AP Colonel San Chico. There was a run-off in NRHA Non Pro between Roman Zimmermann (RDH Genuine Cookie) and Petr Julina (Ima Dancin Dun It). Ondrej Slamjak earned a fifth place aboard Smart Little Joker.

Hynek Fister and Fives Rooster were crowned NRHA SBH 5&Under Champions.

On Sunday, Ondrej Slamjak was once again first in Youth reining. He was followed by Tamara Koresova aboard Peppy Bright Star. In Senior reining Klara Salkova was first this time, riding Smart Chiconita. Hynek Fister with Monty Blue Sky was fifth. Later in the day he won the Junior reining with Fives Rooster and was second with Conquistador Dun Me.

Our team did very well in NRHA classes. Ondrej Slamjak was crowned NRHA Rookie Champion aboard Smart Little Joker. Helena Tyralova came second with AP Colonel San Chico. Tamara Koresova won the NRHA 13&under riding Peppy Bright Star.

In the prestigious NRHA Open, Klara Salkova was crowned NRHA Open Champion. She guided Brooks Legacy to a score of 143,5!

Wooden Trophy, 2nd round [27.06.07]

  The second round of Wooden Trophy show was held on June 22-24th in Roznov. Lukas Bartko aboard Smart Chiconita and Ondrej Slamjak on Smart Little Joker (both by Smart Chic Olena) were respectively first and secong in Friday's reining Youth. Dominik Golminc finished 4th with Solanos Triple Jac, Tamara Koresova with Peppy Bright Star was 5th and Barbora Kubicova with Lisa Shiner was 6th.

Hynek Fister excelled in Junior reining, guiding Fives Rooster and CB Sugar Dunnit to the first and second place respectively. Next three places went to Smart Chiconita's daughters: Shining SK Johanka was 3rd, SK Grippen was 4th and Tinkle Smart Bonita 5th.

In Senior reining Klara Salkova was first with Smart Chiconita (with a score of 142) and 4th with Monty Blue Sky. Marioan Stihel won the Futurity class with SK Shining Jac, Hynek Fister was just behind him riding Sayos Honey.

There was a heavy rain on Saturday, but once again our team did well. Hynek Fister was first with Fives Rooster. Klara Salkova guided SK Great Pine smart to a second place. Hynek was just 0,5 point behidn her with CB Sugar Dunnit tis time. And the 6th place went to Marian Stihel and SK Shining Jac. In Amateur reining Jana Markova was 4th with Jessi Smart Contessa and Vlastimil Sedlacek was 6th with Monty Blue Sky. On Sunday Martina Smirova was 3rd in reining Youth, riding Brooks Legacy.

On the previous weekend, Barbora Kubicova went to the CZQHA/NRHA Show in Nova Amerika. With Lisa Shiner she won the AQHA Youth reining, AQHA western horsemanship Youth and was second in NRHA Rookie and western pleasure all breeds. She also earned a 4th place in AQHA western pleasure Youth.

 

Sayos Sisters [27.06.07]

  We have 3 new mares by Sayos Shining Sun. Sayos Senorita's dam is by Smart Chic Olena, Sayos Bit O Honey is a sister of Sayos Honey and Sayos Shining Chex is a sister of Bueno Sayos. All three of them came from USA on June 8th.

  Please find some photos from our 4th Horse Auction. There was a total of 15 horses consigned for sale, among them four 2-year-old horses by Little Banty Rooster. We also did a stallions presentation - Versary Toly Key was one of them (www.toly-key.wz.cz). Versary Toly Key was bred at our ranch and is currently standing at Toly Key Ranch. Inauguration of the covered arena [06.06.07]

  On May 27th, in the presence of the mayor of Kozlovice, Mr Miroslav Tofel, Klara Salkova has inaugurated our new covered arena by cutting the ribbon. The ceremony was followed by a short western riding presentation. Here you can find photos from the inauguration.

 

Wooden Trophy 2007 [06.06.07]

  On May 18-20th Roznov p. R. has hosted the first show of this year's Wooden Trophy series. The first day was dedicated to Czech FN reining classes, on Saturday and Sunday there were Czech WRC classes.

On Friday Klara and Monty Blue Sky finished first in Senior reining, thus qualifying for the Czech reining championship. Tamara Koresova has earned her qualification in reining Youth. Barbora Kubicova riding Lisa Shiner was fourth in reining Youth. In Amateur reining she was first with Diamonds N Gin Pleez, followed by Ondrej Slamjak aboard Smart Little Joker (both have earned their slots for Czech reining championship). The Futurity class was won by Marian Stihel on SK Shining Jac. Hynek Fister on Sayos Honey finished just 0,5 pts behind him.

On Saturday, during the first qualifying show for the Wooden Trophy final, Klara Salkova earned the champion and reserve champion title with Lisa Shiner and Monty Blue Sky respectively. Hynek Fister was the best rider in Junior reining, riding Fives Rooster. Katka Strakosova aboard Brooks Legacy earned a second place in Amateur reining.

Barbora Kubicova was successful on Sunday. She was fifth in western horsemanship and third in western pleasure with Diamonds N Gin Pleez. She also won reining Youth riding Lisa Shiner.

 

Little Banty Rooster

New horses by Little Banty Rooster [08.02.07]

  Last week we brought to our ranch six horses from the Netherlands. All of them are by Little Banty Rooster, a son of Gallo Del Cielo (aka Rooster, his offspring has won in excess of 1,7 million dollars) and out of Cheri Coquette (by Smart Little Lena).

Among them, there are five 2-year-olds and one 3-year-old mare bred with Footworks Finest. The 2-year-olds are out of QH and PH mares. They all look almost the same and have a good conformation. Little Banty Rooster had his first offspring in 2004.

NRHA Futurity sets a new record [06.02.07]

  The NRHA Futurity Sale in Oklahoma City has set a new record - 195 000 USD was paid for a 2-year-old stallion!

On Friday, December 1st a total of 134 horses was sold for 1 076 950 USD. The average price of one horse was 8000 USD. 40 000 USD was the highest bid for a yearling colt Dipped In Chrome (by Custom Chrome). On the previous day, Green Valley Ranch has paid 48 000 USD for Gunflower, a mare by Colonels Smokingun, bred with RR Star.

On Saturday there was 50 horses sold for a total of 1 500 000 USD. The average price was 31 000 USD. The highest bid ever in the NRHA history, 195 000 USD, was made for a 2-year-old stallion Hesa Smokin Shiner (by Shining Spark). The new owner is Gustgaynia Ravenberg from Ontario, Canada. The horse will be trained by Jason Grimshaw.

Boomernic becomes the newest NRHA million dollar sire [30.01.07]

  Boomernic, winner of the 1992 NRHA Open Futurity, is the newest NRHA million dollar sire. His offspring has won 1 000 906,31 USD in NRHA events.

Boomernic is by Reminic, out of a Mr Gun Smoke mare and was bred and rised by Greg Ward. As a 2-year \-old he wa purchased by Bob Avila and Doug Carpenter. Just before the NRHA Futurity he was sold to Brent Stone, who guided him to the Open Futurity Championship. They won more than 120 000 USD in NRHA events.
Here are his most successful offspring: Commanders Nic LTE $200,000+, NRHA Derby Champion, NRHA Derby Reserve Champion, NRHA Open Futurity-4th place; Mr Boomerjac LTE $120,000+, NRBC Champion, NRHA Derby USET Res Champion; Leavem Boomen LTE $42,000+, NRHA Open Futurity Finalist; Boomernicker LTE $72,000+, NRHA Open Futurity Finalist, NRBC Finalist, NRHA Derby Finalist; Bran New Nic 1997 NRHA Limited Open Champion, 2003 Dutch Western Reining Champion; Daniel B Boom APHA and AQHA World Champion; Boomboomvoododaddy LTE $28,000, NRHA Open Futurity Finalist.

The youngest NRHA money earner by Boomernic is Taris Designer Genes, the winner of 2006 NRHA Open Futurity.

At our ranch we have a daughter of Boomernic - Boomer Nikki, a multiple Czech Championship finalist. Her daughter, SK Grippen, has already been shown several times as a 3-year-old and SK Smart Taminic is on the best way to to succeed in reining.

There was also a second horse to gain another million dollar in 2006. Topsail Whiz is now the second ever horse to be NRHA 4 million dollar sire.   During the Christmas time three new horses came to our ranch from USA.Top Prize Kid is a 2-year-old son of Freckles Top Prize (by Topsail Cody), a NRHA Futurity finalist in 1993 and gold and bronze medal winner at the WEG in Jerez de la Frontera. Dry Shine is a 4-year-old Sayos Shining Sun's daughter. The third horse was brought for Ondrej Slamjak. It's a 5-year-old stallion by Smart Chic Olena. Smart Little Joker is a the Colorado State Fair Open and Int. Open Futurity Champion. More

 

Middle European Cup 2007 - poster [10.01.06]

  The 2007 edition of Middle European Cup will be held in Austria this time. The first info about the show starts to surface on the Internet. Among other things there is a poster which announces this event. Klara Salkova with Brooks Legacy and Smart Chiconita is the only rider from Central Europe which appears on this advert. More
